Incorporated and granted an unrestricted short term insurance license in 2006. RICL subsequently began operations that same year. The Company is a joint initiative between the Mvelaphanda Group (Mvele), Britannic Holdings and Management.

RICL utilize its own infrastructure, which includes an office network, a broad skills base, information systems and technology. Our business model focuses on underwriting niche and specialised products that have a large insurance base with low severity and high frequency exposures.

Protected and supported by A-rated reinsurers who carry the bulk of the risk, RICL has a BBB rating from Global Corporate Rating (GCR). RICL utilize the Underwriting Manager model to manage its business and have stringent risk management controls in place. Each UM has its own specialists who have intimate knowledge of its products and markets.

Anton van Wyk
Chief Executive Officer

Anton van Wyk was the founder of Resolution Underwriters (Pty) Ltd Underwriting Managers (Pty) Ltd in 1993 and co-founder of Resolution Health Medical Scheme. He holds Directorship in various companies and has extensive experience in short-term insurance, re-insurance,policy development and managed healthcare.

Andrew Lee
General Manager

Andrew Lee has been in the Short Term insurance industry since 1990. He has worked for many of the main industry players ( AIG, Hollard, Mutual & Federal), as well as ran his own business. He currently fulfils the role of General Manager. Andrew has an MBA in Corporate Strategy and Financial Markets.

Wayne Phillips
Chief Operations Officer

Wayne Phillips is responsible for overseeing the Company's main underwriting functions as well as establishing and maintaining client relationships. He has 12 years of insurance experience, including Marine and Transportation in the direct and re-insurance markets and creating niche insurance products.

Erwin Lehmann
Managing Director

Erwin Lehmann is a former financial director of Resolution Underwriters (Pty) Ltd Underwriting Managers (Pty) Ltd where he gained extensive insurance experience. This included establishing the successful risk management Division of Coin Security Group, focusing on Product Design, utilising both local and international insurance markets.

Dr Desire Kikomba
non executive Director

Dr Desire Kikomba has worked as a professional practitioner for more than 10 years in South Africa and the Congo. He also was medical superintendent at Tambo Memorial Hospital. His contributions include setting up a medical evacuation system, provider network and benefit management in South Africa for patients transferred from African countries.

Jannie Kotzé
non executive Director

Jannie Kotze was an advocate of the High Court of South Africa for 12 years before taking the helm at Resolution Health Medical Scheme, transforming it into one of the fastest growing medical aid schemes in South Africa. He's a member of the board of Healthcare Funders and Services and on the board of various national companies.

M C du Toit
executive Director

MC Du Toit is the Group Managing Director of the Coin Security Group. As a qualified chartered accountant, he gained experience at Deloitte and Touche and as a partner of Du Toit Greeff and Du Plooy Accountants and Auditors.

Karien Rothman
non-executive Director

Karien Rothman launched her own training and development consultancy in 1992; she's concluding a PhD in commerce. She also served as a part-time Lecturer at various business schools and colleges.

Hendrick Kekana
non-executive Director

Hendrick Kekana chairman of Coin Security Africa, was Chairman of Pheli Investment Holdings, CEO of Egoli housing Corporatation and the first executive director of SA Residential Developers Association (SARDA). He is a member of the executive committee of the SA Intruder Detection Services Association (SAIDSA) and chairs the constitution task team
